Description

Based on an Italian trench coat from the 1970s, we chose an Italian base over an English one as we felt it had more swagger and was more contemporary with the wider wrap. We made a proper closing lapel and neck with a single wide throat hook to keep the elements out. Featuring a belted waist and sleeves with double "D" rings, these are superior in our opinion to the pronged belt and eyelets, which are more cumbersome, the eyelets tend to unravel and the belt prong tends to get bent or worse comes off.

Side pockets are our signature crescent pockets that are ergonomic and provide easy entry to the pocket and keep the hands dry when it pours.

Cut from a special water repellent Austrian silk loden, this fabric was the last batch of this now sadly discontinued quality - it was just to expensive to weave. The fabric is woven from wool, angora and silk that give it a sheen like decadent cashmere. The weight of the fabric at 440 grams (16 oz) is great for a city overcoat, as one is constantly running around, in and out of buildings and public transport, and with our unstructured construction, it doesn't feel like one is wearing a medieval suit of armour, like most traditional overcoats where one overheats.
